This past weekend at the North Carolina Association of Student Councils State Convention, RRHS Advisor Mr. Gary Edwards was recognized as a 2017 NC nominee for the Warren E. Shull National Advisor of the Year.  Student Body President Hope Elias had this to say summing up what both students and faculty alike see, "Mr. Edwards is fundamental in the structure of our student council, and in the involvement of the student body as a whole. The passion he exhibits for student council and service to the school and community sets a precedent that motivates and inspires myself and fellow students to follow suit."

Hope Elias and Kimberly Pampilo were inducted into the Student Council Hall of fame.  Not pictured is Elaine Gray Burgess who was also inducted into the Hall of Fame.

After a grueling election process, Madison Hubbard and Roanoke Rapids High School were elected the North Carolina Association of Student Councils President-Elect!!!!! Madison Hubbard will sit on the State Student Council Board for two years and Roanoke Rapids High School will host the State Conference in 2019!!! Congratulations Madison and great job to every Student Council Member, past and present, who helped lay the foundation of hard work and dedication so much so that the state trusts us with their convention!!!!
